Mom,
The week was good. Yeah Huff is still waiting on his Visa. So we are still here. Not a whole lot happened this week. Basically this week was just a lot of finding and talking to people, we had a few people say we could come back so that was nice.
I'm trying to think of cool stuff that has happened. Ummm. Last week at the end of p-day some sister missionaries in the district gave me a machete they had in their apartment so, I have a machete now. That is pretty cool. A member gave me some paracord to make a handle for it so now it looks pretty cool.
Also a member in our ward gave me a little book to borrow called "Missionary Pal" it is basically a book that lists references to the Bible that back up the churches doctrine and teachings, it is pretty good so far.
On Friday night Elder Huff was backing me up and when he got in the car a drunk guy who was smoking a cigarette motioned for us to stop and he wanted to talk to us. He told us that he saw how Huff backed up the car and that he could get us jobs on the military base directing the planes if we wanted. He also talked about how he is an ex-cop and he also tries to spread the word of God by going to bars and talking to people about church. So that was interesting.
That is pretty much it.
I am glad to hear that all is going fairly well at home still.
Favorite scripture? Ummm, there are a lot in the Bible that are pretty fun. I have come to enjoy some of the random scriptures hidden in the Old Testament or in the back of the New Testament.
Favorite Hymn? I have really come to like How Firm a Foundation a lot. That one is super good.
That about does it for the week.
Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Goodbaudy

Week 18 Corpus Christi, Texas
Mom,
Well, transfer news has come and this one is pretty interesting. Turns out I am staying here in Flour Bluff for another 6 weeks which will make it 6 months total. Also I will be staying here with Huff for another 6 weeks. That means Huff and I will be together for 4 1/2 months which is super rare. So it should be exciting.
That's good to hear that Cliff's funeral went well. Sounds like it was really cool. I'm glad all continues to go well at home.
Sorry this will probably be short. Not much is new here. Just chilling on the Bluff. Food has been good, we have been fed really well and the food has always been super good.
I had to give a talk on Sunday school yesterday. I found out about it on Saturday night. So that was good. I think it went okay. Something I learned was that there is a difference between edify and instruct. Instruct means to impart skills or knowledge, but edify means to make someone understand. I thought that was an interesting concept.
Anyway, all has been good. Just getting ready to chill for another 6 weeks on the Bluff. Hope all continues to go well at home. Have a great week.
Love, Elder Goodbaudy

Week 17 Corpus Christi, Texas
Mom,
This week was super good. That is crazy to hear that everything worked out the way it did. This has been a crazy few months for you hasn't it? It seems like everything has changed recently.
No sadly President Trump did not make it up to Corpus Christi which was a little disappointing. It's alright though, hopefully I will get to see the wall be built sometime soon hahaha.
Yeah transfers are next week. We had interviews with President Torres and he said he isn't sure where he wants to put me yet. I hope that's a good thing...... Regardless we will get the call next week and I will find out if I'm staying in Corpus for 6 months or if I move on somewhere else.
That brings me to the big news this week, we had a baptism! So the girl we've been working with, Paige, decided to get baptized on Saturday. It was so cool. She truly was a miracle from the Lord. She is going to college in Philadelphia but she is originally from here in Corpus and so for the past month she has been visiting home for winter break and she wanted to meet with missionaries while she was here. So we have been meeting with her and she decided she wanted to be baptized! She is so awesome, she just took the leap of faith. Elder Huff baptized her on Saturday evening and the baptismal service was super cool. There were a whole bunch of members there from the ward, it was awesome. Then yesterday in Church I got to confirm her, it was so cool. (It was the second time I had confirmed someone so it was pretty cool).
Other than that big news not much is going on. Now that Paige has been baptized so much stress is just gone. It feels so nice. I don't know, I have really come to like it here in Corpus on the Flour Bluff. The members are super awesome and everything is just going so great.
Yeah sometimes those Isaiah chapters are hard to understand. Something President Torres has told us to help us understand Isaiah is to remember that everything he is writing about has a double meaning. It is foretelling something that is happening in that time and it is also foretelling what will happen in our time. He is big on his dualistic prophecies.
Favorite scripture or hymn? Probably a favorite Hymn would have to be How Firm a Foundation. I just love the message in that Hymn and what it is talking about.
Good to hear that all has gone well with Cliff's funeral, (Elder Goodbaudy's Great Uncle passed away on January 5th) sounds like it should be really cool. That is about it for this week. Have a great week!
